The wheelchair serves as a mode of locomotion for majority of the physically disabled. Very often these patients find it difficult to commute from one place to another with the wheelchair due to the obstacles in the course. Wheelchair skills are imparted to our patients at ISIC to ensure an active lifestyle once the patient is out of the barrier free environment of ISIC. Wheelchair skills such as forward and backward rolling, moving up and down the obstacles and ramps train the patients to overcome the barriers that come in indoor and outdoor traveling. Active living of the patient is encouraged by teaching them skills such as wheelie, going up and down the stairs and descend from a height or from a steep ramp.
For the reunion of the mind, body and soul our Yoga Instructor teaches Asanas, Pranayamas and meditation.
Patients not only learn how to make clay models but also molding clay with their hands exercises their fingers keeping them flexible.
Table tennis skills are also imparted to the patients. Badminton, Volley ball, Basket ball and various other sports are also played by the patients. Rugby, Lawn Tennis and Music Dance Therapy have also been introduced.
